This book is about the current tragic set of circumstances forming in Michigan in Van Buren Charter Township.
It provides an overview of toxic, radioactive nuclear waste - what it is, where it came from and what is being done with it.
Alfred Brock lives in Wayne, Michigan, which is well within the area of impact that this ever growing dump has on surrounding communities filled with people - including singles, families, seniors and children.
The dump is lucrative. The State of Michigan Department of the Environment, Great Lakes and Energy has not been forthcoming nor clear about what they have been doing to ensure the site is safe. They failed repeatedly to contain the growth of the thing and now are allowing the site to continue to operate, currently, without a license to do so.
The US Army Corps of Engineers has gathered, and continues to collect and transport, toxic radioactive materials from the Hanford, Washington Nuclear Reservation and the Lewiston, New York Niagara Falls Storage Site to a waste dump in Van Buren Charter Township.
This reference book brings together the sources of the materials and their destination while discussing issues related to the political morass that actually encourages the mishandling of toxic, radioactive nuclear waste.
